Extra help and foodbank vouchers

There are lots of organisations throughout Ealing who can offer help when you're struggling. We've listed a few here.

Some can offer you help and foodbank vouchers, but others do not issue foodbank vouchers.

Citizen’s Advice Helpline (Help Through Hardship) 

General Advice and Signposting, Benefits

Call 0808 208 2138 Mon-Fri, 9-5. The helpline is very busy and you can sometimes be on hold for a long time (45 minutes – 1 hour).

They can issue foodbank vouchers to people who are using their service, to get a foodbank voucher, you need to call them and speak to them about the difficulties that you are currently facing.

Debts and Arrears, Welfare Benefits Questions

Drop-in session on Wednesdays 10-11:30 at St Mellitus Church, W7 3BA. Service is for foodbank clients only, but you don’t need to collect your food at the same time. Or call 0300 373 1180 Mon-Fri, 9:30-5 to book an appointment.

Ealing Law Centre

Legal help available on many subjects

They can issue foodbank vouchers to people who are using their service. They do not issue foodbank vouchers if you are not working with them as a client.

 

Ealing RISE

Drug and Alcohol Addiction

They can issue foodbank vouchers to people who are using their service.

 

 

The following organisations do not all provide foodbank vouchers, but they can offer help

 

Mental Health Support

MIND Safe Space – Drop in from 4:30-7pm 7 days a week at The Lido Centre, 63 Mattock Lane, W13 9LA

Circle Cafe – Safe Space for children and young people who are finding it hard to cope with their mental health. Drop in 2:30-6pm, Monday to Friday and weekends from 12:30-4pm. 46 South Ealing Road W5 4QA

 

Employment Support

Drop in Work Clubs – Drop in for support with searching for a job, interview tips, CV support and more.

Term time only between 10am-2pm on Thursday at Southall library, UB2 4BQ or Friday at Ealing Central Library, W5 5JY

English Language Classes (ESOL)

Ealing Community School of English – 2 evening sessions per week free for those out of work, seeking asylum or refugees. Minimal cost for those in work.

Learn Ealing – English courses as well as courses on employability, wellbeing, maths, computing and more. You must be eligible to attend. ESOL (English) classes are free, but others might have fees.

AgeUK – Information and Advice for older people, Social Activities, Telephone Support and more.

Sure Start Maternity Grants – You might be eligible for a grant if it is your first pregnancy or twins.

Healthy Start (for pregnancy to children under 4) – You might be eligible for a Healthy Start card if you or your child is British. The card has money to allow you to buy some healthy foods and collect vitamins.
