You may remember that in the financial year 2021/22, Ealing foodbank was named as the busiest foodbank in London. While we’re still the busiest individual foodbank, we’re no longer the busiest local authority.
That’s good news. Although it’s slow progress, people in Ealing are receiving good help to improve their finances. Some now have the dignity of buying their own food from the location they prefer, rather than relying on the foodbank. That’s something to celebrate.
The slightly less good news is that the past financial year broke all of our records for busiest month ever, busiest year ever and most food ever distributed. We provided food for 42,336 people between 1 April 2022 and 31 March 2023.
We are so grateful for the amazing community in Ealing who support our work by donating food, giving up their time to volunteer and donating money. Your generosity has a real, measurable impact on our community.
As we enter this new financial year, we’re looking forward to another 12 months of not only providing food to those who need it, but also offering quality advice and help to ensure people are supported out of their difficulties.
